Here the activities are organized around nature and mountain sports.

Hiking

For the earthlings the hike is accessible everywhere. From the small loop of 1h30 with little gradient to the getaways over several days through the hike by day, anything is possible. We have prepared walking cards available in the eco-house and we are at your disposal to advise you according to your level and your desires. Mélanie and Laurent are mountain guides, can also accompany you on planned outings, or tailor-made according to your desires. (see page “Your accompanied hikes”)

Trail

Trailers both, we begin to respond to your requests to take you on our favorite trails, see organize small technical courses of advanced/descent scaling. If you like to crapahuter in the mountains, don’t hesitate to tell us, we go out on average 1 time a day.

Hiking skiing or snowshoeing

Many routes are within a 30-minute drive of the lodges. Here too we have maps to advise you.

Mountain mountain biking

To a slightly more sporty degree, mountain biking is also a widespread activity around Montbrand. It is reserved for sportsmen, because even if there are short routes, most record gradients … In Lus the High Cross one of our partners rents electric-assisted ATVs. Caving

Underground, the rock of The Dévoluy and the Beauchaine holds its secrets. Again, different levels, for children from 6 years old, up to roped adventurers. (http://www.speleologie-hautes-alpes.fr/)

Climb

On the mountain side, climbing, via ferratas and the tree-up are also structured everywhere. Professionals offer coaching at very reasonable rates, especially for families.

Free Flight

In the air now, the valley is among the sites internationally known for paragliding, delta-plane, ULM or glider. Baptisms and beginner outings are organised all year round.

In terms of heritage, Montbrand is a small village perched between 953 and 1086m above sea level. It comprises 7 hamlets for about 60 inhabitants.

The hamlet of Creyers in particular is of great heritage interest. It is built in sloping limestone terraces, and the typical mountain architecture has been preserved intact for centuries. You can still see thatched roofs, covered but clearly visible.

His great pride is the farm of the Forest, a farm of peasant bakers, who from cows to bread, work in complete autarky with the natural environment. Limousine cows provide manure, which allows cereals to grow in accordance with the organic farm charter. In the mill rye, wheat and small spelt are processed into flour and then into sourdough bread in the wood-burning oven. Twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, from noon to 6 p.m., the farm welcomes around the oven people interested in this traditional agriculture, which generates economic activity in the village and supports 8 people in total.
